The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf, Illustrated by Robert Lawson

A young bull doesn't seem to fit in. As other bulls vie for a spot in the bull fighting ring, Ferdinand prefers to sit and smell flowers.

How these stories are connected: Neither Ferdinand nor Sarah seem to fit into the world around them, yet their uniqueness is used in special ways as we learn there is a place for everyone, even those who seem different.

Questions about The Story of Ferdinand:

Ferdinand wasn’t like the other bulls. Why do you think he didn’t get upset about that?

What happened to Ferdinand when he got to the bullfight?

Why do you think they brought him home?

Questions about the Bible story:

Why do you think God gave Sarah a son?

Why do you think God cared about her?

Questions about our lives:

God made a place in the world for Ferdinand and for Sarah, just as they were. How do you think       God makes a place in the world for you?

Why do you think God cares about you?

Prayer

Dear God, thank you for loving us just the way we are. Thank you for caring about us and making us part of your family. Amen.
