Copy Cat by Mark Birchall

Cat was small and Dog was big, and whatever Dog did, Cat did too...
Dog is fed up with Cat copying everything she does. But when Cat stays away, Dog realizes that playing alone is not nearly as much fun.

How these stories are connected: Cat learns to do the things Dog does by following her and copying her.  Cat's copying extends beyond the world of play and make-believe and into real life when he gets sick and experiences Dog's care. After the disciples received the Holy Spirit, they found they could do the things Jesus did. They learned to teach, preach and heal by being part of Jesus' ministry; essentially they "copy" Jesus.

Questions about Copy Cat:

Why did Cat do the things Dog was doing?

How did Dog feel about that?

Why did Dog take care of Cat when he got sick? How did Cat learn to take care of Dog?

Questions about the Bible story:

Did you know that Jesus once healed a little girl by saying, “Little girl, get up!” ?

Why do you think Peter prayed to Jesus?

     What happened after he prayed?

How did Peter learn to do the things Jesus did?

Questions about our lives:

How can we learn to do the things Jesus did?

     What difference does praying make?

 Prayer

God, we believe you are powerful. Hear our prayers and help us to do the things that Jesus did so all people can be well. Amen.
