Three Cheers for Tacky by Helen Lester and illustrated by Lynn Munsinger

Goodly, Lovely, Angel, Neatly, Perfect, and Tacky join a cheering contest, but Tacky, the odd bird, takes forever to learn the routine. The day of the contest, all the other contestants bore the judges with their perfect routines, but Tacky’s hilarious mistakes win his team the contest.

How these stories are connected: Jesus prays for us to be united; to be a team. Even when it seems like we don’t belong, working together and finding ways to be together will always result in good things. We were made to be a team.
