Two Crazy Pigs by Karen Berman Nagel

When Fensters’ two crazy pigs ruin everything on the farm, they tell them to leave. It’s never nice to be rejected, but the pigs will find a home that is a perfect match for their crazy antics.

How these stories are connected: Sometimes we can only learn the right thing to do by making mistakes. The pigs, the Fensters, Rebekah, and Jacob all make mistakes on the way to discovering what is right.

Questions about Two Crazy Pigs:

Why did the Fensters get mad at the pigs?

What were the pigs supposed to do that they didn’t?

     What did the Fensters do?

     What happened to the pigs?

Why do you think it turned out all right for the pigs?

Questions about the Bible story:

Why did Rebekah want Jacob to get the blessing?

Was that the right thing to do?

How did Esau feel after Jacob stole the blessing?

After Jacob stole the blessing, what did Rebekah tell Jacob to do? Why?

Questions about our lives:

What things do you think make God angry?

How do we know when God is angry?

What can we do about it?

     Who can help us?

Prayer

Dear God, thank you for the good people in our lives who help us do things that are right and things that please you. Bless our families and our teachers. [Have the children name these people.] Amen.
