I have worn many hats before donning "Office Administrator". I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts - Stage Management Degree from the University of Regina, married Logan, my highschool sweetheart, and moved to Calgary in 2005.
In Calgary I continued my professional theatre degree as an Assistant Stage Manager and Stage Manager for theatres all over Western Calgary, but primarily Theatre Calgary. For those who may not be familiar with the world of technical theatre, the Stage Manager runs the show from behind the audience. They work with the lighting, sound, flies and special effects crews to make sure all of the things pointed at the stage happen. An Assistant Stage Manager works with the costume and props departments to make sure all of the things that are on the stage itself happen.
I finished up my seventh professional season in theatre and started a family. Logan and I have two beautiful girls, Nora and Paige, and I have spent the last eight years as a stay at home mom.
Over those eight years I have had a number of different jobs working with a variety of different organizations and groups using my unique collection of skill. I have worked in Insurance, Kitchen designer, social media manager, event organizer and farmer. I never would have guessed that a theatre degree would lead me to a job in my church. Here I am, feeling truly blessed, wearing my stage manager hat in a completly different setting.
