Wed. morning Bible Study - The Gospel of Mark
- Wednesday, January 17, 2018
- 9:30AM - 11:30AM
- North Meeting Room
This eight-week study provides a contextual foundation for reading the Gospel of Mark.
We take an in-depth look at the first century world in which the gospel writer lived and wrote, including the pervasive influence of the Roman Empire, and consider how Mark's Gospel is a deliberate confrontation of Roman control.
We study how Jesus' ministry moves from a jewish inner circle to and ever-expanding world of sinners, outcasts, and Gentiles, mirroring God's desire for the healing and care of all people everywhere.
Thought-provoking presentations and stimulating conversation help us lay the groundwork for an impactful reading of the Gospel of Mark.
